Requirements

The following are the operating system requirements for running DAX Studio

Operating System​

  • Windows 11 (Recommended)
  • Windows 10 (Recommended)
  • Windows 8 / 8.1
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 or later

The primary requirement for the operating system is that it supports the .Net Framework 4.7.1 or later

Excel Versions (for Excel Add-in)​

If you want to run the DAX Studio Excel add-in in order to connect to Power Pivot models or to output results directly into Excel files the following Excel versions are supported. If you are just running the stand alone version of DAX Studio you do not need to have Excel installed.

  • Excel 2016 / 365 (Recommended)
  • Excel 2013
  • Excel 2010

32 or 64 bit?​

DAX Studio works on all combinations of 32 and 64 bit configurations in both operating system and Excel.

  • 32 bit Windows & 32 bit Excel
  • 64 bit Windows & 64 bit Excel
  • 64 bit Windows & 32 bit Excel
